Where do I begin?

I had an eye opening moment yesterday as I browsed the health food store, looking for something new to add to my regime. I was eyeing up the chlorella, specifically wanting to bind heavy metals in my system. The fellow working at the store asked me for a bit of background information, which I appreciated because I wanted to get the right products. I listed about 300 things I was experiencing and he looked at me like, "girl, what are you doing?" The truth is, I thought I knew! I had been taking lots of different supplements on the advice of my many practitioners. But quite honestly, had not been feeling any better with any of them.
"You are not ready to heal your liver or guts or bind metals, or anything you want to do. That is stage 3. You are at stage 1: elimination."
I was thinking, no sir, I am a stage 3. I take all the things. I have researched everything going into my body. I am way beyond stage 1. I am ready.
He continued with this: "Make sure you are pooping every day! Even better if it is 2-3 times a day! One is bare minimum. Your lymphatic system is closed. Get up in the morning, bounce on that rebounder for 5-10 minutes. Red light for 10 minutes on your front and 10 on your back. Start walking every day. Get 10,000 steps in, no excuses. Sweat it out every other day in the sauna. You're not pooping, you're not sweating, you're not bouncing, you're not walking, so you're not ready for stage 2 or 3."
I licked my wounds for a brief moment, then finally heard what he said. I am a stage 1. It was like a lightbulb went off. No wonder I don't feel better. No wonder I have a herx reaction (healing crisis, detox flu) every time I work on something. I can't possibly think my body will respond to healing if I am full of toxins.
The crazy thing is, I know all of this advice. I tell it to my clients daily. Elimination is job one! But do as I say, not as I do I guess... I suppose I just figured I was past these beginner steps!
At the end of the day, we are all human. Our body's are different. Our experiences are different. We heal different.
I am thankful for that brief interaction I had with this guy yesterday, because I feel like he has set me up with a realistic goal. Instead of thinking "I have to heal my body post chemotherapy and radiation", I am now thinking "5 minutes a day bouncing is easy-peasy! And I like walking!"
So, if you are looking at where to begin, start with baby steps! Go for a walk. Have a good sweat. Enjoy some bowel movements (yes, I said enjoy...knowing that you are ridding your body of toxins)! Anything to get the lymphatic system moving again.
Happy elimination!
